The vineyard is small enough - about 4 hectares - to be worked mainly by hand. It is planed to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The sea breeze from the Atlantic Ocean and a light South Easter cool the vineyard down in summer and allow The grapes to ripen slowly. Every bunch of grapes is individually selected and harvested by hand.
The soil is a very fertile, deep red loam/clay. Its water retention is so good that irrigation is unnecesary and minimum soil disturbance is practised. East-west oriented rows provide maximum protection against the sun.
